Nelly in Bulgarian National Television

Nelly with the sumo Champion Kotooshu in Tokyo, Japan
For many years Nelly interviewed presidents, champions, movie stars, celebrities, people of all walks of life. She lived the life in the fast line and now she teaches how to release stress, relax and connect to Infinity through Kundalini Yoga. Her classes are inspiring, healing, musical and awaken the creative power in each one of us. Beginners are welcome!

"I have practiced eastern martial arts and meditation for 15 years" - Nelly, who holds Black Belt, 2nd Dan in Karate, says, "but when I came to my first Kundalini Yoga class with Gurmukh I totally transformed. For the very first time in my life I felt so much love, peace and harmony, my soul just clicked and I knew that I have found what I have been looking for. It seems like I have been waiting all my life to experience the miracle of Kundalini..."

"How I knew that Kundalini is my destiny? My soul told me. That very first class I took in May 2003 felt like awakening to me, facinating. I will never forget and the night I interviewed Gurmukh for my book "Revelations". That night I had an amazing dream: a man dressed all in white and with a long beard came to me to teach me. We had a long, long conversation about life and the mystery of creation. He answered my questions with patience and love. I will never forget the light coming from his eyes, he looked at me and read me like an open book, felt like rebirthing and healing. He knew my weknesses and my strengths, he gave me the courage to continue my journey in kundalini yoga. At that time I didn't know who the man was. A few months later my teacher Tej gave me a picture of Yogi Bhajan and suggested to start meditating on his eys. I look at it and couldn't believe it - the man from my dream was smiling at me: "I told you, we will talk again. Now it's time." I shared that with Harijiwan, another teacher of mine and student of Yogi Bhajan for more then 30 years. Harijiwan, who is known for his great sense of humor, wasn't surprised that Yogi Ji came to me in a dream: "Oh, yes, he comes to people in their dreams and teaches them. This is how he does his advertisement. Keep up and he will support you through the whole journey." I continued with my regular practice of kundalini yoga and meditation and never felt alone. There is so much happiness in my life, I am in harmony with the world around and it's so beautiful..."

I had many experiences with Archangel Michael, but the most dramatic one was when I went swimming with the dolphins in the ocean for the first time. It happened just after we finished the Angel Therapy Certification Course with Doreen Virtue, Ph.D. in
All my life I have been afraid of swimming in deep waters. I love the ocean, it’s like a magnet to me, but at the same time it terrifies me. Once as a little child I remembered horrifying memories of the sinking of Atlantis. They stayed with me for all my life and one of the reasons I came to the dolphins’ journey was to release the past and to let go of the fears of deep water.
I passionately waited for the day to come and finally here we are on the boat, on the way to my first ever swim in the ocean. During the whole trip I prayed to Archangel Michael and the other angels to be with me and to help me let go of the terrible fears. “Please, show me a sign, I need you more then ever to be with me on this journey, please surround me with your loving light.” I kept praying silently when we suddenly stopped. Right in front of us were three whales - a baby whale with the mother, and the escort behind them. They were very close to the boat and we looked at them in awe and adoration. The escort whale blew his air out, over 10 meters high, a roaring rush of air and mist, and I was able to take a few pictures. It was so amazing to watch them slowly passing us. While taking the pictures I felt a warm loving hug, my heart melted into this calming energy and I got more and more used to the idea that soon will be swimming in the ocean with the dolphins. We saw whales three more times that day and finally the dolphins came, playful and happy, racing with the boat. They immediately captured our hearts. One of them was very brave; he came so close to the boat that if I stretched my hand I would be able to touch him, but resisted and quickly came into the water. I was excited to be so close to the dolphins that didn’t think much before I jumped, but as soon as I found myself in the deep waters the memories of a sinking continent came up again: the smoke of a volcano was choking me and a huge tsunami swept me away. It was horrible to remember the end of a mighty civilization… For a few horrible seconds I was living at the edge of two worlds, the past and the present. I tried to stay above the water, but my heart was racing madly, with my mind going through the past again. Despite of the horror I remembered to call upon Archangel Michael for protection and help. I didn’t even finish my prayer, when giant hands lifted my whole body and I felt like I am flying gently in the water. “Look at your right” - I heard him talking to me. I looked and saw a dolphin that slowly was swimming parallel to me; he didn’t speed up, like he was trying to help me with my struggle. It was the Brave One, like I called him earlier, the one who was the closest to the boat when they first came. I recognized him by the cut on his fin, perhaps from swimming too close to another boat. He didn’t fear being next to me; somehow the dolphin felt my fears and wanted to calm me down. For a while he swam next to me, then another dolphin came and they started swimming in circles around me. Amanda, one of the staff members on the boat (my Earth Angel!) also came to comfort me; she gently squeezed my hand and gave me a sign to look down. Right underneath us was a large school of dolphins, twelve I counted, including one albino dolphin. The light was so bright and the water so clean that I was able to see them perfectly. They were swimming slowly, matching our speed, it was just beautiful… We went swimming in the ocean two more times that day and each time I felt more and more comfortable, thanks to Archangel Michael and other angels’ help. I will never forget the third time. Captain Jay stopped the boat and we all went into the water, warm and soft like velvet. “Now relax and enjoy. I am right here.” Archangel Michael told me and for the very first time I was in the ocean with a calm and happy heart. In this vast ocean I wasn’t alone, the angels, the masters, the dolphins were with me. I was mastering my yoga skills to calm the mind and the breath, and the heart… Then someone touched my left shoulder and told me to look down. Even if there wasn’t anyone next to me, I trusted the guidance and for a very first time dived deep into the water. Under me, to my right, I saw two beautiful dolphins. One was the aforementioned albino. They looked at me and I felt time stay still. My breath stopped, stunned by the beauty of that moment. Tears came from my eyes; I have never seen anything more beautiful and more healing. It was one of these moments that living your whole life is worth experiencing it. The sun light perfectly illuminated the ocean, a magical blue-green color with the two happy dolphins, and to make the moment even more unforgettable to me, the white dolphin telepathically spoke to me: “You are with us again. You have done that so many times. Now your heart is healed. The past is gone, the fears are gone. We will meet again.” I heard the whale singing under the water and didn’t want to leave the ocean, it felt like home to me, a silky gentle touch of a magical friend. Amanda sensed my calmness and asked me: “Did you see, they came and started circling around you to scan your energy and to help you let go of the fears. One of them was the one with the cut fin that we saw earlier, they followed the boat three times. I was praying to them to come closer to you and to help you let go of your fears…”
Through an emotional, but happy release, I healed my deepest fears that day. When I came to the hotel and looked at the pictures of the whales, I was stunned to see the image of an angel. When the whale blew his air out, my camera captured a beautiful angel spreading his wings. Archangel Michael and the other angels were giving me the sign that they are with me on this journey and that there is nothing to be afraid of. I asked for their protection and guidance and they where with me on this sacred journey. Thank you angels, archangels and ocean children, thank you Amanda, thank you all of you who were with me at the day of freedom for me!
39 years of dark fears of water were gone in a split of a second, with angels’ help, it was that easy… If you want to let go of your deepest fears, go swimming with the dolphins, call upon the angels and you will be healed forever.
Her spiritual name, Tej, means radiance and perfectly fits the warm heart and soul of one of the great teachers of Kundalini Yoga. Her smile is an open door to infinity and her warm eyes penetrate deeply, reading all like an open book. Tej has an energy field and knowledge that illuminates, comforts and helps those around her. It has been a real blessing to me to study with this divine Soul! She helped me grow and made my experience on Earth in this life time a very happy journey.
Tej was working toward her Master’s degree in psychology at USC, when she saw a little sign “Yoga as a Form of Therapy.” She called the number and went for an interview. “I had to take three buses to go there,” she says. “I was 19 at that time, alone in the middle of L.A. There was a temple – Guru Ram Das – and the people around me were dressed all in white.” There she met Yogi Bhajan and her life changed forever.
She carefully listened to everything Yogi Bhajan said that first night and knew that he spoke to the deepest part of her psyche. “It’s like the very wisest part of me was brought out by his statements, like it was already there but was reinforced by him.”
After his lecture, related Tej, he walked down the aisle and stared at her and she reached him mentally: “All right, I like your teachings, I’ll follow your teachings, but I’ll never follow you like a man.” He shook his head up and down, like he understood.
“He heard me, I knew he heard me. He was very respectful and very much related to my depth. Knowing that we were communicating on a psychic level was very interesting, because I never had anybody be able to do that before, never.”
Tej tells the story as if it was only yesterday, but she has been a student of Yogi Bhajan (Master of Kundalini Yoga, Mahan Tantric who brought Kundalini Yoga to the West in 1969) for over 30 years now. Her dedication to Kundalini Yoga and Yogi Bhajan has taken her to positions of honor and respect within the Sikh Dharma. She is the Custodian of the Archives of the Teachings of Yogi Bhajan and a recognized authority on the teachings. Tej has been involved in numerous Yogi Bhajan publications as transcriber, editor and compiler including the Woman’s Camp Series, “72 Stories of God, Good and Goods” and “The Master’s Touch.” Tej went on to finish her Masters Degree in Counseling, and for many years, while assisting Yogi Bhajan with his correspondence she also received extensive training from him in yogic counseling.
Tej teaches a regular schedule of classes at Golden Bridge in Hollywood. With her extensive background and authentic love of the teachings, the classes are occasions to enjoy very deep meditative experiences and to learn vast amounts of yogic knowledge. She often uses lessons from her own life of study with Yogi Bhajan, sharing how he helped her overcome challenges as examples to inspire her students.
And she tells the class, that in the same way it takes pressure on a piece of coal to make it into a diamond, without the pressure, the pain and the challenges you can’t really go to the next level. “It has been many, many times that my teacher put me through challenges, and I always learned how to overcome my own negative mind.”
Yogi Bhajan was known for testing his students and Tej talks about the hardest thing she’s ever done as being the four years of White Tantric Yoga, every weekend, with Yogi Bhajan. “To do only one of these courses takes 40 days to have the sub-consciousness filter out and cleanse then get used to this new state. It was a severe cleansing every weekend and I don’t recommend this to anyone. We were around him, he allowed us to do it and his aura was protecting us.”
Tej and others were traveling with him at that time and he was leading the White Tantric Yoga meditations himself. Says Tej: “Yogi Bhajan gave his life force for it, every time he did them his auric field was like a garbage collector, gathering, cleansing everybody’s consciousness. He was in so much pain when he finished a White Tantric Yoga session, we had to help him off the stage and into the car.”
Tej also teaches about the Aquarian Age, telling her students to get ready, to build their strength. She leads her classes with the same intention she believes her teacher instilled in her, always aiming to become clearer, stronger and own their energy fields. Tej Kaur Khalsa talks of almost nothing other than helping her students. Teaching Kundalini Yoga is her life.
Nelly's article about Tej was published in LA Yoga, Ayurveda and Health Magazine, the world largest magazine on yoga, ayurveda, health and spirituality with 80,000 copies distribution.
